Stanley Cup Playoffs:
–The Montreal Canadiens eliminated the Vegas Golden Knights with a 3-2 overtime victory last night in Game Six of their Western Conference Final series. The win sends the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1993. Carey Price stopped 37 of 39 shots on goal for the Canadiens. Vegas went back to Robin Lehner, who stopped 29 of 32 shots. He gave up the series-ending goal 90 seconds into the overtime period.
–Tonight – the Tampa Bay Lightning host the New York Islanders for Game Seven of their Eastern Conference Final.
The NHL’s expansion team, the Seattle Kraken, have announced Dave Hakstol as their first head coach. Hakstol led the Philadelphia Flyers from 2015 to 2019. He served as an assistant for the Toronto Maple Leafs the past two seasons. The Kraken will play in the Western Conference Pacific Division, with the Arizona Coyotes moving to the Central Division next season.
