A pedestrian in Connoquenessing Township was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning.
According to State Police, shortly before 11:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Lower Harmony Road a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Robert Pflugh of Butler crossed over into the opposing lane of travel and hit a mailbox before striking 65-year-old Donald Phipps who was standing in his driveway.
Phipps was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation determined that Pflugh was driving under the influence, and he has been booked into the Butler County Prison on charges including Homicide by Vehicle while DUI.
