Jordan Walker of the St. Louis Cardinals won the 2026 MLB All-Star Home Run Derby last night in Philadelphia. The Cardinals right fielder topped Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber 12-11 in the final to win in his first Derby appearance. Walker tied Boston’s Willson Contreras with 13 home runs in the opening round. Walker defeated Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero 6-5 in the semifinal round, while Schwarber ousted Contreras 9-8. Schwarber just escaped elimination in the opening round by one home run. His teammate Bryce Harper was one of four eliminated in the first round.
Caminero hit the longest home run of the night, traveling 491 feet.
The All-Star Game will be played tonight at 8pm in Philadelphia. Cristopher Sanchez of the Phillies will start for the National League. He is 11-4 this season with a 2.62 ERA. Dylan Cease of Toronto will start for the American League. He is 6-4 with a 2.56 ERA this year. The game will be televised on FOX.
Paul Skenes and Braxton Ashcraft will represent the Pirates at the game, but neither will pitch.
The American League has won 10 of the last 12 All-Star Games. Last year’s game was tied at 6-6 after nine innings, with the National League winning 4-3 in a home run swing off.
