Butler City Council has approved a project and the purchase of new equipment.
First, Council accepted a bid from PA Roofing Systems in the amount of just over $21,000 for needed roof repairs to Historic Pullman Park. The money comes from the proceeds from the sale of BASA assets. This project is taking place in cooperation with the Butler Area School District who is now managing that facility.
Also, Council also approved the purchase of a high-tech camera inspection system for storm drains in the amount of nearly $104,000 from MTech. According to Councilman Troy Douthett, Butler City Streets employees have experience with this system and have been impressed with the performance.
This equipment could be utilized as soon as sometime next month with the goal of spending eight hours a week exploring underground lines and working with Gateway Engineers to update maps in an effort to discover issues before they become problems like street collapses.
