After some Butler City residents received a bill higher than expected for their school taxes, a correction is expected to be made soon.
A letter was completed and should be received by residents in the coming days explaining that Berkheimer, the agency collecting taxes, did not include the homestead/farmstead exclusion credit in the bill.
Also included with the letter is the corrected tax amount due with the applied credit.
If you have already paid the prior amount, you will be issued a refund for the overpaid amount.
