Clarence W. Clanton, Jr., 91, of Butler, PA (formerly Valencia, PA), passed away at his daughter’s and son-in-law’s residence surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, February 13, 2026.
He was born on August 24, 1934, in Lancaster, PA, to the late Clarence, Sr., and Sophia Clanton.
Clarence graduated from high school in 1952. After graduating, Clarence proudly served our country by enlisting in the United States Army, where he served for 4 years. He then went on to work for Gulf Oil/Chevron as a Chemist for many years, before retiring. He was also a longtime church attendant. He enjoyed going to several different churches. He even was baptized late in life at age 87. Clarence enjoyed camping, bowling, and spending time with his loving family.
Clarence is survived by his daughter, Lemira (Tyson) Frasur of Butler, PA; son Bill (Angie) Clanton of Burton MI; grandchildren Victoria (Nick) McGowan, Butler, PA, Alexa Voelp, Butler PA, Brady Lee Clanton,Burton MI, and Cody Clanton, Burton MI and by his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Kay (Weaver) Clanton, whom he married on November 19, 1965, and who passed away on February 8th, 2015; his brother James Clanton (February 7, 2026).
As per the wishes of the family, there will be no formal service but a celebration of life at his daughter’s home on Tuesday the 17th from 2-7 pm.
