Butler County Commissioners say the county is operating at full capacity despite the ongoing state budget impasse.
Commissioners say they have cash flow to make payments, but the money isn’t earning interest as it typically would.
Officials also say that there is $13 million that is in a portal waiting to be released to the county, but the budget impasse has prevented that money from going out.
The state is also withholding the “bed tax” payments to the county, which is funding from hotel bookings and is used to help fund the tourism bureau, now known as Experience Butler County.
Commissioners expressed their disappointment with the lack of progress. They also are looking at possibly withholding fee payments to the state in order to recoup losses in interest.
