Butler County residents now have the option to engage with a new app in order to strengthen the local emergency response network and save lives.
According to Butler County Emergency Services, those who are trained in CPR and willing to assist in emergencies can download the PulsePoint Respond app and receive alerts when someone nearby is experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest in a public location.
PulsePoint AED helps locate and register nearby defibrillators. Residents can even add new AED locations to the registry, helping both bystanders and first responders.
Nearby off-duty responders are also notified as advanced medical care is dispatched, allowing CPR to begin before first responders arrive on scene.
More information about this free app can be found on the PulsePoint website.
