A barn was completely destroyed in a fire this morning in Penn Township.
The fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. at a barn in the 200 block of Powell Road.
Dispatchers say a vacuum pump inside the barn caught on fire. It was soon elevated to a two-alarm fire and additional crews were called to the scene.
The fire grew in intensity, eventually engulfing the entire barn, which was filled with hay. The fire ripped through the barn and into an attached silo.
Sources say the cows inside the barn were able to safely get out.
The barn was part of a dairy farm owned by the Mock family. It was completely taken to the ground.
Powell Road was shut down as of 10:30 a.m. Drivers may see delays in that area.
