Daniel W. “Boonie” Smith, 60, of East Butler, PA, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on February 6, 1965, in Butler, PA, he was the son of Ralph and Betty (Williams) Smith.
Daniel graduated from Butler High School in 1983. After graduating, Daniel attended New Castle School of Trades, where he became a certified welder. He then went on to work for Robinson Fan as a Welder. Daniel enjoyed hunting, camping, riding his Harley, as well as spending time with his loving family, especially his granddaughter, who was the apple of his eye.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kathleen (Christie) Smith, whom he married on July 1, 1995; his son, Michael Christie; his granddaughter, Kaylee Brook Christie; his sister, Ronda Claypoole; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
A Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001, with Reverend Bob Edmundson, officiating.
A private burial will take place at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
