The Pennsylvania State Police are offering an internship program that aims to make it easier for college students to become a trooper.
One of the schools participating in this program is Slippery Rock University which will allow students to spend the second semester of their senior year training at the State Police Academy.
This experience will count for 15 credits toward a bachelor degree in criminology or criminal justice majors, allowing students to graduate from school and be ready to enter the police force at the end of their training.
The deadline to apply for this program is September 30th.
SRU also participates in the Law Enforcement Academic Partnership program which helps Troopers seeking an associate or undergraduate degree by recognizing their prior learning and reducing course duplication.
