Immigration officials in Pennsylvania will have to comply with state law in order to operate detention centers in in the Commonwealth.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection says that the Department of Home Land Security cannot use two recently purchased detention centers until the buildings follow federal and state environmental regulations.
The two facilities located in Schuylkill County have to prove that the estimated 9,000 people will not put the local sewer system in danger of local damage.
The local sewer systems are currently being supported by through emergency measures.
