A deputy sheriff and a K9 officer are receiving recognition for their role in a search for a missing man earlier this year.
Brandon Huffman of the county’s sheriff department and K9 officer Justice helped search for a missing elderly man in Lancaster Township back in September.
Huffman said they found a hat that belonged to the man, and that Justice was able to get a track—which led them to the missing man.
“Justice was able to get a track on the man after finding the hat. He took us north on Route 19, which led us to the elderly man who was about 3 to 4 miles away from his house” Huffman said.
County commissioners honored Huffman and Justice with a proclamation at the public meeting last week.
