A local community is preparing for an all-ages event to benefit local veterans and their families.
VFW Auxiliary Post 499 in Evans City is holding a Family Freedom Festival beginning Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and continuing on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the 400 block of North Washington Street in Evans City.
Saturday’s activities will include live music, food trucks, vendor booths, a duck pond 50/50, and children’s activities while those stopping by Sunday will be able to enjoy a car and bike cruise with plaques for the first 100 entrants as well as vendor tables and more.
A donation requested for admission will benefit organizations including Butler Guitars for Vets, Colonial Gardens Guest House for Men, Homeless Veterans Program, and the Butler VA.
