A woman is facing homicide charges after Tuesday night’s fatal accident on Route 8.
According to Butler Township Police, 51-year-old Julie Parison of Mars was the subject of a 911 call about an unconscious woman in a vehicle along West New Castle Street in the City of Butler.
Parison fled from Butler City Fire and Police at a high rate of speed through red lights until her vehicle collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Route 8 South and Litman Road. The crash killed 61–year-old Kevin McAtee of Saxonburg and seriously injured the driver of the vehicle, 53-year-old Karen Moore-McAtee.
Police stated that Parison admitted to relapsing from alcohol before the crash. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of injury and blood testing. Charges include Felony Homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence.
