As many students return to class, the FBI is warning residents about the seriousness of threats against schools.
According to the Pittsburgh FBI, “Hoax Threats are NOT a Joke”.
Making hoax threats in any way, shape, or fashion is a serious criminal offense with lasting consequences including arrest and imprisonment of those found to be behind the threats.
Anyone who comes across a written or posted school-related threat, should not simply repost it or share it. Instead, immediately report it to a parent, trusted adult, teacher, school administrator, local law enforcement or the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office.
