Tomorrow is the first official day of summer and a local utility company is encouraging residents to remember safety.
FirstEnergy is reminding those out enjoying summer to never release foil balloons as they can cause power outages if they drift into electrical equipment.
Also, keep cords and devices at least 10 feet from pools or spas and cover outdoor outlets to keep them dry. Downed wires are always dangerous and should be reported to 911.
Finally, drones and other arial toys should be kept far away from power lines. Any that get stuck in or near equipment should not be retrieved. Instead, contact FirstEnergy at 888-544-4877.
