The first case of measles in Allegheny County has been identified.
A child with measles was seen at UPMC Children’s twice in the last two weeks. Hospital officials confirmed the patient tested positive for measles.
The child was unvaccinated according to UPMC. They also say the child is not an Allegheny County resident, but from a neighboring county. However, that county was not identified.
Hospital officials say there is no ongoing risk to the public, and those who came into contact with the patient have been contacted.
