A former Butler City chief of police has died.
Ronald Connelly passed away last Thursday in Pittsburgh.
Connelly was first hired to the Butler City Police Department in 1959 and eventually rose to become chief of police until his retirement in 1979.
After retirement Connelly kept busy by delivering pizzas and coffee, along with a number of other activities.
A funeral service for Connelly will be held this Saturday at 11 am at the Martin Funeral Home, Downtown location.
Connelly was 93.
