Forward Township and Armstrong have entered into a franchise agreement that will see the township collect more revenue.
Late last week Forward Township approved an agreement with Armstrong that will see the cable provider pay a five percent tax on revenue for cable television services in the township.
The five-year agreement, is contingent on approval of an ordinance to be voted on in April by supervisors. Forward can also opt out of the agreement if they give Armstrong a six-month notice, if not after five years the agreement will be automatically renewed.
According to officials with Armstrong, they say there will no added charges to customers in Forward Township. This agreement does not make Armstrong an exclusive cable provider in Forward.
