The third round of antlerless deer license sales are underway and hunters also have the opportunity to pick up a specialized permit.
Hunters are now able to secure a Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) permit, which can be used to harvest antlerless deer in any established deer season, including some state game lands.
DMAP has been around for years but previously was offered only on other public lands and private lands to help landowners achieve land use goals and/or to limit the spread of chronic wasting disease.
Each DMAP permit costs $10.97 for residents and $35.97 for nonresidents. Visit the Game Commission’s website for more information.
