The Pennsylvania Game Commission says there was a nearly two percent increase in the deer harvest this past hunting season.
The new numbers released showed that Pennsylvania hunters took down just over 430,000 white-tailed deer—around 172,000 of those were bucks.
Locally, Butler County is split into two different wildlife units. Those units combined had an estimated harvest of nearly 55,000 deer.
Firearms deer season still accounts for the largest amount in the annual deer harvest.
