Gas prices have dropped a bit both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by four cents to reach $3.46 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole also dropped by four cents to $3.38. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.02, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.60.
The average national gas price decreased by two cents over the past week to sit at $3.13. This is a nickel more than a month ago but three cents less than one year ago. Demand for gas and the price of crude oil have both increased over the past week.
