Gas prices have eased downward both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, decreased to $3.61 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by four cents to reach $3.56. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Latrobe at $3.26, while the most expensive is in Mercer at $3.66.
The average national gas price sank by four cents over the past week to $3.18. The demand for gas has increased ahead of the Independence Day weekend but oil prices have returned to what they were before Israel’s attack against Iran.
