Gas prices have decreased both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by seven cents to reach $3.47 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by four cents to $3.40. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Clarion at $3.03, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.60.
The average national gas price dropped by a nickel over the past week to reach $3.08. This is nine cents less than a month ago and 12 cents less than one year ago. Demand for gas and the price of crude oil have both increased slightly over the past week.
