Gas prices have remained even locally while dropping a bit across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, stayed steady at $3.51 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by three cents to $3.44. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Clarion at $3.10, while the most expensive is in Warren and Oil City at $3.60.
The average national gas price rose by two cents over the past week to sit at $3.18. This is three cents more than a month ago and 15 cents less than one year ago. Both the demand for gas and the price of crude oil have increased over the past week.
