Gas prices have decreased slightly both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, dropped by a penny to reach $3.37 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by a nickel to $3.31. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Clarion at $3.04, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.60.
The average national gas price decreased by two cents over the past week to reach $3.03. This is 12 cents less than a month ago as well as seven cents less than one year ago. Both demand for gas as well as the price of crude oil rose a bit over the past week.
