Gas prices have mostly stayed even both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Butler as of yesterday is $4.80—which is an increase of a penny compared to last week.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by four cents to reach $4.70. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Washington at $4.57, while the most expensive is the $4.80 we are paying here in Butler.
The average national gas price remained stable over the past week at $4.47 which is the highest ever for this time of year. Gasoline demand increased last week, and the price of oil continued to tick upward to over $92 a barrel due to the lingering volatility around the Strait of Hormuz.
