George Paul Mellinger, Jr.

George Paul Mellinger, Jr., 85, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, in Boynton Beach.
He was born May 28, 1940, in Butler, to the late George Paul Mellinger, Sr. and Delma L. Ediburn Mellinger.
George was a graduate of Butler High School and received a B.S. from Slippery Rock University and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a retired counselor and therapist.
He was a former member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Butler.
He is survived by his son, Darin Wade Mellinger and his wife, Michelle, of Delray Beach, Fla.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lee Seybert Mellinger, to whom he was married for 48 years and who passed away Jan. 10, 2013; and his brother, Edward H. Mellinger.
There was no visitation, and services and burial in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler, were private.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home South Side, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
