A couple of local organizations are among the 48 across 21 PA counties to be recently awarded grant funding to support historic resources.
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission recently issued over $2.5 million statewide in Keystone Historic Preservation Grants.
The Harmony Museum has been chosen from among over 100 applications to receive nearly $99,000 for instillation of 39 new and historically correct windows while the Zelienople Historical Society has been awarded nearly $23,000 to repair some structural support beams in Passavant House. All grants require equal matching funds in cash.
The goal of this program is to provide funding to support projects that identify, preserve, promote, and protect historical resources to benefit the public and revitalize communities. This money comes through the Keystone Recreation, Park, and Conservation Fund with a portion of the state realty transfer tax revenue.
