Harry O. “Pappy” Mottern, age 82, of Chicora, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Cabot.
Born in Oakland Township on January 16, 1935, he was a son of the late Orie M. and Mary Florence McMillen Mottern.
A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Harry was employed for 23 years as a laborer and backhoe operator for the Pennsylvania American Water Company.
He was a member of North Butler Presbyterian Church.
Harry is survived by his wife, Nadine M. Daller Mottern, whom he married November 30, 1957; two sons, Kevin L. Mottern, of Carbon Center, and Danny J. Mottern, of Chicora; one daughter, April D. Mottern, of Fenelton; two grandchildren, Tanner Mottern and Jade Mottern; three great-grandchildren, Sadie, Savannah, and Bentley; one brother, Bert Mottern and his wife, Beryl, of Saxonburg; and one sister, Judy Hays, of Chicora.
He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
There will be no visitation, and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
