The Pennsylvania Department of Health is warning residents about measles cases reported in the state.
Multiple counties were identified as areas where those infected with measles may have infected someone else.
Officials say the impacted counties are Adams, Clearfield, Lancaster, and York. If you were in those counties between August 4 and August 12 it’s recommend you check the specific list of locations.
Symptoms for measles include fever, cough, runny rose, red watery eyes, and a rash that starts on the head and spreads downward. Without proper protection it can lead to death and symptoms can begin seven to 12 days after being exposed.
Officials say the safest way to protect yourself is by vaccination.
