Hendrick Motorsports has signed driver Connor Zilisch to a multi-year deal to take over the iconic #48 Chevrolet in the Nascar Cup Series by the 2028 season. Current driver Alex Bowman will be retiring after the 2027 season. Zilisch currently drives the #88 car for Trackhouse Racing, where he will remain through next season.
The #48 car was driven to a series-tying seven championships by Jimmie Johnson.
