Those interested in learning more about the geological history of the McConnells Mill area are welcome to join a hike coming up later this week.
A guided Geology Trail Hike along the Slippery Rock Gorge will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday and continue until about 3 p.m.
Participants will learn how rocks and minerals have linked to the industrial past of the area. Those planning to attend should meet at the Kildoo Picnic Area, wear a face mask, and practice social distancing.
Pre-registration is required by calling the park office.
