A home was significantly damaged in a fire Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to a home in the 700 block of West Old Route 422 in Franklin Township just before 9:30 a.m.
Dispatchers say the fire engulfed the front room of the house, destroying the front structure of the home.
Assisted by Unionville, Connoquenessing, and Butler Township fire departments the Prospect Department began to fight the fire on the south part of the home and attending to smoke coming from the attic.
Just before 10 a.m. crews were able to put the fire out and clear the scene by 11:30 a.m.
Although there was nobody home when the fire broke out, a pair of pets died in the fire. The cause of the fire has not been revealed at the moment.
