Jane Catherine “Janie” Moore, of Butler, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 5, 1959, in Butler, she was a daughter of Pearl Schiebel Osche and the late Elmer Osche.
Janie was employed as a storeroom manager at Sonneborn in Petrolia.
She was a member of Sts. Francis and Clare Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. She belonged to American Legion Post 117, the Italian Fraternal Society of Butler, the East Butler Firemans Club, and the RC Men’s Club.
Janie enjoyed fishing, going to camp, and riding motorcycles, and she loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Moore; her mother, Pearl Schiebel Osche; five siblings, Earl Osche and his wife, Sandy, Diane Wolfe and her husband, Herm, Brenda Veselich and her husband, Bob, Tina Bonos and her husband, Brett, and Lori Hartman and her husband. Dwayne; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Osche; and one brother, Joseph “Joey” Osche.
Family and friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home Downtown, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Selzer officiating.
