John K. “Kenny” Miller, 84, of Butler passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Kenny was born in Prospect, PA on May 7, 1941, to the late John Miller and Janet (Johnson) Lunn. His brother, Emerson (Janet) Miller and sister Nancy (Rich) Groves grew up together in small town life hanging out with all his cousins. Kenny was known for being mischievous and a real man’s man kind of guy. Kenny loved John Deere tractors and farm life.
He met his wife in one of his favorite places, a diner. Kenny and Karen Henricks Miller were married 61 years and made their home in Carbon Center, PA. They had 4 children: Kevin Lee Miller, Kimberly (Jim) Hepler, Ken (Lisa) Miller, and Kurt (Peggy) Miller.
Kenny was very strong and spent many years, days and hours on the road away as a hard-working truck driver. He passed the time listening to country music. He watched westerns over and over like it was the first time, every time. On Sunday’s he could be found watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt. In the early years, he and Karen would spend the weekends dancing the night away. Kenny loved going to “Sunday morning church” at the ol’ Roxy’s Diner, shooting the breeze with his trucker friends. Kenny drove a semi-load of lumber up the windy hills of Benezette so that he and his cousins could build “ole blue”, a family camp. He made many memories hunting and camping with his friends and family up in the mountains.
He would do anything to support his family. Kenny’s family expanded with six grandchildren: Ashley (Brandon) Rieger, Jocelyn (Justin) Cook, Courtney (Matt) Bowers, Autumn (Shannyn) Hepler-Franko, Shane (Hailey) Miller, and Brock (Ava) Hepler. Seeing babies made his face light up so when his grandchildren had their own children, Kenny was very proud. His great-grandchildren are Olivia Bowers, Caroline Hepler-Franko, Harper Cook and had 2 more on the way in April and October 2026. In the last years, Kenny adored his 3 loyal fur babies: Daisy, Abby, Gracie.
Along with his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Miller.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 5-7 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM. A closing prayer will immediately follow in the funeral home.
