John L. Steiner, 80, of West Sunbury passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026. He was born in Boyers, PA on April 19, 1946, to the late Stephen and Anne (Kinkela) Steiner. John graduated from Moniteau High School in 1964 and honorably served in the Army National Guard from 1965-1971.
John worked at Pullman Standard until 1981; he was the owner of Steiner’s Landscaping and Nursery; he also owned and operated J & P Farms with his partner, the late Patricia Nelson.
John was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love for the outdoors with his family and friends. He enjoyed large and small game hunting, fishing, trapping, arrowhead hunting, gardening and camping.
Father of Jon “Eric” (Amy) Steiner and Jennifer Stroup; grandfather of Kelsey and Kylie (Nate McDonald) Simons, Zetta Stroup, Maya Laskowsky, Michael (Jamie) Steiner, and Nick (Eleecia Smith) Holdread; great grandfather of RyaJo Simons, Emersyn and Kennedy Steiner, Morgan Dalton, Remington and Braelynn Holdread. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and partner, John was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Steiner.
