A recent school supply drive hosted by the Butler Lions Club for the students at the Center Avenue Community School got a welcome boost from another community service group, the Butler Rotary Club.
To mark its 100th anniversary, Rotary members set a goal to collect at least 100 items including pens, pencils, notebooks, scissors, binders, crayons, etc., to aid the Lions’ drive.
Rotary president Leslie Osche said the club surpassed that goal although she didn’t have an exact item count.
Rotary members presented the supplies to the Lions at a recent meeting.
