At the Little League World Series in Williamsport Monday:
–Venezuela kept their scoreless streak alive with a 4-0 win over Tokyo, Japan. The Venezuela team has now won all three of their games via shutouts.
–Chinese Taipei shutout Aruba 4-0.
Venezuela and Chinese Taipei meet Wednesday – with the winner clinching a spot in Saturday’s International championship gane.
–Connecticut used a 10-run sixth inning to finish off South Dakota 13-1.
–Nevada walked-off a 1-0 win in seven innings over South Carolina. A heartbreaking end for the South Carolina team in that game, as their starting pitcher Joe Guilietta tossed a six-inning no-hitter, with 12 strikeouts.
Nevada and Connecticut will play Wednesday, with the winner advancing to the U.S. championship game.
The losing teams from Monday will all face elimination games today:
–at 1pm – Japan and Mexico play.
–at 3pm – South Carolina and Hawaii play.
–at 5pm – Canada and Aruba will meet
–at 7pm – South Dakota will face Washington.
All of the games today will be on ESPN.
