A number of local fire departments are receiving state funding to help with their operations.
State Representative Tim Bonner announced over $100,000 will be coming to fire departments and ambulance companies in the 17th Legislative District.
The funds range from nearly $10,000 to $15,000.
The money can be used for construction, renovation, equipment purchases or repairs, recruitment, and education.

- Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department & Aux. – $12,220.
- Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company – $12,838.
- Karns City Regional Ambulance Service – $15,000.
- Marion Township Volunteer Fire Company – $12,426.
- Petrolia Volunteer Fire Department – $13,045.
- Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team (Fire) – $13,045.
- Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team (EMS) – $9,978.
