Gas prices have remained even locally while decreasing across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, remained stable at $3.87 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by four cents over the same period of time to settle at $3.81. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $3.59, while the most expensive is in Mercer at $3.90.
The average national gas price again dropped by a dime over the past week to reach $3.54. This is 31 cents less than a month ago and a quarter lower than one year ago. Demand for gas increased again last week, but the price of oil remained even due to a lessening of concern surrounding the conflict in the Middle East.
