A local Independence Health System hospital has been recognized for their stroke care.
The Accreditation Commission for Health Care recently designated Butler Memorial Hospital as a Primary Stroke Center for “demonstrating its commitment to providing exceptional patient care and outcomes.
The hospitals recognized with this designation have shown “a higher level of proficiency and compliance in stroke prevention, early management, and treatment”. This designation ensures that patients receive the highest level of care while the accreditation process includes a three year cycle of continuous monitoring for best practices.
Other Independence Health System facilities also received this designation which demonstrates the care provided across the network to more than 1,000 stroke patients annually. Butler Memorial also participates in the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines Stroke Quality Improvement program.
