The public is invited out to a couple of events at local parks later this week.
First, area residents are invited to McConnells Mill State Park to experience Creek Critters on Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Attendees will meet at the Hell’s Hollow Trail Parking lot to journey to Hell Run Creek, home of salamanders, crayfish, and aquatic insects. Participants who join the park naturalist are advised to wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring drinking water.
Also on Thursday, a Trivia Night is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lakeview Beach Parking Lot on the North Shore of Moraine State Park. Those attending this free activity will be able to compete in answering questions about Moraine State Park as well as Pennsylvania in general with a chance to win a prize. Those planning to attend should bring blankets and chairs as well as snacks and beverages.
