A couple of local lawmakers are being recognized by an organization that helps promote small government.
The Institute for Legislative Analysis has named State Representatives Aaron Berntine and Tim Bonner as two of their “Defenders of Limited Government” with the Charlie Gerow Award.
Bernstine pointed to his role as a founding member of the Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus as proof that he has a history of limiting government overreach while Bonner named Thomas Jefferson as an inspiration when he drew a link between the growth of government and the decrease of liberty.
The Washington D.C. based ILA presented 73 Pennsylvania state lawmakers with this recognition, which is based on Limited Government ratings for 50 votes cast in 2022.
