Soldiers from the local National Guard are in the process of getting ready to deploy to Africa.
The soldiers are on a mission to serve with the Horn of Africa to assist with the Combined Joint Task Force.
They will train for about a month in Texas before taking off to Africa where they will spend approximately the next nine months.
More than 300 soldiers were honored during a deployment ceremony on December 17th at the Zembo Shrine Auditorium in Harrisburg.
They will be supporting U.S. Africa Command and partner their partner forces to help with security objectives in the region.
