A Portersville woman is out thousands after falling victim to a phone scam.
Police began their investigation in October of last year, when the woman was contacted by an unknown person who mimicked the sound of her grandson’s voice requesting money to get him out of a legal problem.
The woman then shipped $4,000 via UPS Next Day Air to an address in California.
The victim later found out that this was a scam and the money had still been delivered.
Police say there are no suspects at this time.
