A Slippery Rock man is facing charges after it’s alleged he attempted to flee from police while under the influence, and damaged a historic property in Brady Township.
It happened Saturday on Centerville Pike when police saw a vehicle make a wide turn and drift into the opposite lane before almost hitting an embankment.
The officer then attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the vehicle took off. Police say 19-year-old Russell Barkey drove through a fence of The Old Stone House on Route 8 during the chase.
Barkey came to a stop after attempting to go over a small embankment on the 200 block of Duffy Road.
After a field sobriety test, Barkey was taken to the hospital for further testing. He would be charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and several other driving offenses.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 13.
