One person was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital and another person was placed in the Butler County Prison after a fight led to serious injuries in Franklin Township.
Crews were called to a home on the 7000 block of Ridge Road yesterday around 11:30 a.m. Dispatchers say one man had a finger amputated during the alleged incident.
A medical helicopter was called to the Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Center.
According to charging documents, the incident began when the victim and 22-year-old Brandon Caruso got into a verbal argument. Caruso alleged he took out a katana sword and cut off two of the victim’s fingers after the victim attempted to assault him.
Caruso has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and several drug possession charges.
Bail for Caruso was set at $75,000 and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 16.
