The Marion Township Sewer Project budget has been increased after changes were made during the completion of the project.
The cost of work completed by Mortimer’s exchange was originally just over $1.4 million but due to the addition of two grinder pumps and placement, costs went up. The additional costs will be just over $112,000 for a total of $1.5 million.
Officials with the project say the increase for the cost was caused by several different reasons including coordination with home owners, changes in gravity systems, and attempting to avoid state road repaving.
The increases will be at no cost to the county and will come from the Community Development Block Grant Program.
